Description: In this class our goals are:
1. Pronounce, spell, and translate approximately 200 Spanish words.
2. Learn 20 Spanish sayings, the Lord’s Prayer, and one hymn.
3. Grammar~
a. Define noun, verb, adjective, direct and indirect objects.
b. Understand concepts of tense, number, gender, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd person.
c. Conjugate in the present, imperfect, and future tenses.
d. Make adjectives and nouns agree in number and gender.
4. Practice reading understanding and fluency.
We will be using a workbook together and I will also be providing my own material to expand focused practice.
Please note: This class will also meet online on Mondays and Thursdays for 15 minutes to help reinforce what is being taught in-person in class. The time is to be determined...it will likely be 11:00am or 1:00pm.

Tutor: Mme Carpenter
Description: Students ages 10-14 will learn French through a variety of methods targeting all four language modalities (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and the ACTFL World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages (Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities). Weekly homework will be assigned. Listening and speaking will be our in-class focus, while at-home practice will include reading and writing assignments.

We will also enjoy additional holiday-related cultural components and activities, such as All Saints Day, Christmas, la Chandeleur, Easter, and more.
Please note: Class will meet in-person for one hour and online for two 20-minute sessions twice a week (days and times TBD).

*Special Note: I plan to include at least one optional field trip per semester. These are family-style events, not drop-off. To participate, students must be accompanied by an adult. Siblings are welcome. Please note that field trips may require an additional fee depending on the venue, ticket prices, or other associated expenses.
