Description: We will look at birds, bats and insects and learn how they are designed to fly, the different types in each of the three groups, their anatomy, and the purpose God created them for. Creating our own bug collections will also happen.
Pictures, videos, music, movement, coloring, and creating will all be tools we will use to learn about the flying creatures God designed.

Description: This class is an introductory general biology + lab course designed to impress upon each student the wonder of God’s creation. This class contains 16 modules that explore the scientific method, microscopy, the biological classification system, a survey of three of the five kingdoms, biochemistry, cellular biology, molecular biology, Mendelian genetics, evolution, and ecology. Lab will include the dissection of different specimens and use of the scientific method Students will also learn to keep a good laboratory notebook. Quizzes will be given each week to ensure preparedness for each class. Students should be actively engaged in the learning process.
Please note: This class is 90 minutes in length.
Homework: This class is designed for independent study and students should expect to spend 45-60 min per day outside of class time reading the textbook & working On Your Own (OYO) and study guide questions. A syllabus and schedule will be provided to help facilitate this individual work.

Description: This class is an introductory general chemistry course + lab designed to learn about the matter that makes up God’s creation and how it changes. The class contains 16 modules that explore significant figures & units, thermodynamics, kinetics, atoms & molecules (including chemical equations and stoichiometry), matter and how it changes, gas laws, atomic & molecular structure, redox reactions and acid/base chemistry. The lab portion complements the lecture and will build on the above topics with hands on activities, most of which use common household items. Quizzes will be given most weeks to ensure students are prepared for each class. Students should be actively engaged in the learning process.
Please note: This class is 90 minutes in length.

Description: In this course, students will explore the exciting world of forensic science and learn how investigators use evidence to uncover the truth. We will study topics such as fingerprinting, DNA, shoe and tire impressions, blood spatter, fire investigation, through hands-on labs and interactive activities. Students will also examine real case studies to see how forensic science is used in investigations. All lessons are taught from a biblical worldview, encouraging students to seek truth, think critically, and see how science can be used to honor God. Homework will consist of weekly reading assignments from our textbook. Please note: This course deals with real cases and sensitive topics, and is therefore recommended for students in grades 11 and 12. *However, parents are welcome to register younger high school students at their discretion.
