We still have space in several classes!
Tutor: Mrs. Vickie Rukavina
Description:
Our studies will begin with the days of creation and focusing the year on day six, the day God created animals. Some of our topics will be predators and prey, carnivorous mammals, feliform carnivores, marsupials, primates, rodentia, ungulates, reptiles, dinosaurs, and more. Pictures, videos, games, body movements, coloring sheets, and other hands-on activities will be used to teach each topic.
Supplies needed:
TUITION: $40/month per student or $180/semester per student
Tutor: Mrs. Jenny Franzwa
Description: This year we will be learning all about Chemistry and Physics. The first half of the year we will cover important chemistry concepts, such as properties of matter, atoms, the periodic table, acid/bases, and so much more. Physics will be our focus for the second half of the school year as we cover topics like energy, magnetism, electricity, and many others. Our class time will be hands-on and full of experiments, demonstrations, and activities to keep students engaged. Students will have weekly reading assignments to complete at home, and the experiments will be completed in class--no gathering supplies or messy experiments at home! The text we are using, Apologia Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics, does a wonderful job of taking key topics and making them understandable for all ages, regardless of a student's previous science experience. This class will be geared toward upper elementary through middle school age, and is an excellent class to take before heading into more challenging high school science.
Level: 4-8

Description: This course is a 2 year program that covers all the basics, in a simple clear format. The author is purposeful in how he explains each concept. We explore the greatness of God, as we learn how the laws of Physics hold our world together. Chemistry introduces us to God’s power and order on
a cellular and molecular level. Biology begins with Creation, and from there we cover microbiology, through more advanced life forms and end with the magnificence of the human body.
This class is a great opportunity for students to learn how to take notes, as part of the weekly lectures. Additionally, there are weekly worksheets and quizzes. Mrs. Wicklander also includes other resources, as applicable to the curriculum. Year 1 and Year 2 may be taken in any order.

Description: Does your student need a biology credit, but high school biology seems overwhelming? Give this class a try!
“Equip your student to defend their faith through science! Life Science: Origins & Scientific Theory guides high school students through a comprehensive exploration of Darwin’s theory of evolution as they critically examine the viability, credibility, and plausibility of the theory. Students will explore the evidence, hear from scientists around the world, explore the fossil record, and examine two opposing views on the origin of life as they discover the unchanging truth of God’s word!” - Master Books

Tutor: Katie Hietala
Description: This class is an introductory general chemistry course + lab designed to learn about the matter that makes up God’s creation and how it changes. The class contains 16 modules that explore significant figures & units, thermodynamics, kinetics, atoms & molecules (including chemical equations and stoichiometry), matter and how it changes, gas laws, atomic & molecular structure, redox reactions and acid/base chemistry. The lab portion complements the lecture and will build on the above topics with hands on activities, most of which use common household items. Quizzes will be given most weeks to ensure students are prepared for each class. Students should be actively engaged in the learning process. *This is 90-minute class.
Prerequisite: Completed Algebra I
Texts: Exploring Creation with Chemistry, 2nd Edition (can be purchased used on Amazon or we have a few that can be checked out for the year)
Homework: This class is designed for independent study and students should expect to spend 45-60 min per day outside of class time reading the textbook & working On Your Own (OYO) and study guide questions. A syllabus and schedule will be provided to help facilitate this individual work at home.
Supply Fee: A $50 one-time fee will be collected to cover the cost of copies, lab supplies, etc.
Required Supplies: A 3-ring binder and/or spiral notebook for note taking, along with a calculator. A lab composition notebook will be useful (or student can use a 3-ring binder if better).
TUITION: Semester payment is preferred (1st semester $300/2nd semester $240) or fee is $60/month.
Note: Parents may pay via PayPal, Venmo, or Check.

Description:
“The term “forensic science” refers to the acquisition of knowledge gained from the evidence, analysis, and investigator interpretations with the goal of presenting this knowledge before individuals in the judicial system. While television, movies, and podcasts have popularized forensic science, much of what is portrayed in the media is not accurate. Intro to Forensic Science from a Biblical Worldview homeschool curriculum was developed to teach your students how to use keen observational techniques, understand the disciplines that make up forensic science, and know how to apply them to seeking first the Kingdom of God.
In every lesson, applicable Scripture is woven throughout the text, along with practical labs, and review materials. Case studies are included to raise the student’s awareness of some of the most famous crimes in history, both solved and unsolved, while examining real investigative practices, time frames, and judicial results. Because of the sensitive nature of the case studies, this course is recommended to 11th and 12th grade students.”
