Description: This year-long course for grades 8-12 explores how art can be a powerful tool for storytelling, self-expression, and evangelism. In the first semester, students will develop their artistic voice by working with a variety of mediums—including watercolor, acrylic, collage, mixed media, and air-dry clay—while studying artistic movements such as Impressionism, Expressionism, and Pop Art. Through hands-on projects, they will refine technical skills, experiment with different styles, and learn how art conveys meaning.
In the second semester, students will dive deeper into using their art for impact, guided by the book “Kill Your Art” by local missionary Philip Shorey. Discussions will focus on how creativity can serve a greater purpose, and students will explore ways to display and share their work meaningfully. The course culminates in a final project where students apply what they’ve learned to create a piece that reflects their personal artistic style and evangelistic vision. Description: “Study the Christian heritage of those who shaped America in Marilyn Boyer’s REVISED "For You They Signed”. This all-in-one edition offers both the student text as well as the assignments, quizzes, and cumulative tests.
This study of our Christian heritage is focused on the historical events and people surrounding the Declaration of Independence. The early Founding Fathers of the United States of America were men of principle who debated important points of government, liberty, and the God-given rights of mankind. Their work and sacrifice created an enduring legacy that led to some of the most influential documents in history, like the Constitution of the United States of America.
In this American history homeschool curriculum, your junior high students will have an opportunity to learn how the American colonists chose to respond to the increasing tyranny of the British Empire and why the course of revolution was one they took after all other efforts at relief had failed. Designed for grades 7-9, lessons contain a mix of source documents, related scriptures, short biographies, quotes, and real-world connections.”

Description: I have a passion for history and it is one of the main reasons that initially propelled me into home schooling my five children. Knowing who we are and where we have come from makes us more confident and secure people. It can also help us better discern the truth from propaganda. The text will cover 1708-2014, wars, ideologies, people, inventions, and events that have shaped our history. It is written and I teach it from the perspective of the hope that God gives us through all circumstances.
The text is wonderfully written in story form making it interesting to read. We cover 3 lessons per week, handouts will be given each week to complete, periodic simplistic notes will put on board to copy, periodic quizzes and end of semester tests will be given, presentations, and projects can be done if the student wishes. All are open to change if it is not your wish to have your student participate in the assessments or wish them to have extra help. It is important to me to accommodate what will help each student succeed.
In teaching I use media, notes, pictures, physical movement, repetition, games, a globe for each to place where will study each week, and timeline to help internalize and organize all of the information we will cover.
Grades will be given at the end of each quarter.
You will have communication from me via homeroom classroom that you and your student will need to check each week listing the assignments.
