Tutor: Mrs. Jolene Ceravalo
Description: I love math and I love games! I am so excited to combine two of my favorite things and play some great skill-building/reinforcing math games with students. This class is great for kids who need a little boost with basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, and more) and who enjoy playing games. Each class time will be spent playing various math games. Please let me know if there is a specific math skill that your student needs reinforcement in, and I will try to include a game that covers that concept (if I have one available).

Text: We will be utilizing the math app Teaching Textbooks for this course, as this class is more of a class to help students stay on track and ask questions when necessary. Students will need to purchase the app here: Algebra 1 Version 4.0 (teachingtextbooks.com) and download it onto their device(s) in order to use it. The course runs for 12 months, with 3 months of pause time included, to incorporate breaks/vacations. Enter the start date as the 1st day of class. The parent will then need to use the Course Transfer Tool, selecting option #3 to give me (the tutor) combined access to your student’s account. This will allow me to know whether your student completed the lessons, what their grades are, and help them with questions during class.
Homework: Students are expected to complete 5 lessons per week (including tests), which includes listening to a 15-20 min lecture online and doing the 24 questions assigned within each lesson. Class time will be used to go over select practice problems and answer questions about concepts that are not being understood outside of class.
Required Supplies: A 3-ring binder and/or spiral notebook for note taking will be helpful.
Supply Fee: The app needs to be purchased as mentioned above. No extra supply fee is required.
TUITION: $15 per student per month (This is only a 30-minute class each week to offer extra help.
Note: Parents may pay via PayPal, Venmo, or Check.
